Role Overview

As part of the Coupang Data Platform organization, Web Logging Platform team is responsible for collecting & providing all client-side event logs from Coupang web sites, mobile apps & other supporting systems. Using Coupang’s big data infrastructure on AWS, we collect, load, process the logs for downstream users to analyze user behavior of their systems. WLP also provides various tools & services for the users to use the log data more productively and to have confidence with quality of the data.

What You Will Do

• Build & manage log collection pipeline, from end-point API to data loader application & monitoring batch jobs.
• Solving complex issues on our services for log data reliability & quality.
• Managing & improving log metadata for data discovery & governance

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience with distributed systems, transactional datastores, and systems programming.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or electrical/electronic engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 6+ years of solid work with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems
• 6+ years of coding experience in one of the following: with: C++, Java, Scala
• Experience in building and owning critical user-facing API platform and corresponding backend data systems, and solving complex design, scaling, latency, or performance problems in high-volume low-latency distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and great product sense.
• Strong passion of building product.
• Embrace messiness, wants to be challenged with complex issues.
• Scrappy and willing to take risks.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Strong ownership; experience working in early startup is a plus.
• Experience in development of click-stream / client-side log data collection & analysis tool.
• Experience in development of data governance / compliance applications.
• Experience in development of complex data visualization tool.
• Experience in using AWS products.
• Experience in data processing with Spark & Airflow.
