Role Overview
Our goal is to build the best e-commerce experience for our customers. We get billions of products from sellers and we want to build a consistent experience by automatically detecting features from catalog, and enriching the catalog with structured information. We use machine learning, NLP, Deep Learning to develop models to extract missing data from text and image, detect inaccuracies and fix them automatically. We strive to build efficient workflows allowing humans to apply their judgment only when necessary.

On a daily basis, we solve problems from different kinds of product categories ranging from cellphone cases to fashion. We consume various sources of data such as catalog, reviews, views etc. to continually enhance the catalog. And we do all of this at scale that is growing at relentlessly.

We are building our DS team to help us improve catalog quality, matching and TnS. You will be working on hardest problems of informational retrieval, NLP, Deep Learning and computer vision, operating with large data sets and building platforms that will help us scale. You will research problems and build high quality, architecturally sound systems that solve those problems. We will use machine learning, NLP, Deep Learning, computer vision to improve whole catalog platform data quality, matching quality while making our platform more trust and safty and bringing value to customers iteratively.

Basic Qualifications

• phD or Master degree in in Statistics, Math, Computer Science or related Engineering field,
• 3+ years of practical Machine Learning experience (Data Preprocessing, Feature Selection / Engineering, Model Training, Evaluation and implementation)
• Strong ability of data processing by using SQL/Python.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to present data and its implications in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience with Big Data technology:Hadoop framework, Hive, Spark, etc. is a plus
• NLP is a plus
• Good communication skills in English.
